Below are the Keynote Speakers confirmed for the ETCEA2022 conference:
Prof. Massimo Villari is Full Professor in Computer Science at University of Messina (Italy). He is actively working as IT Security and Distributed Systems Analyst in Cloud Computing, virtualization and Storage and one of the creators of Osmotic Computing Paradigm. For the EU Projects “RESERVOIR” he leaded the IT security activities of the whole project. For the EU Project “VISION-CLOUD”and H2020-BEACON, he covered the role of architectural designer for UniME. He was Scientific ICT Responsible in the EU Project frontierCities, the Accelerator of FIWARE on Smart Cities – Smart Mobility. He is strongly involved in EU Future Internet initiatives, specifically Cloud Computing and Security in Distributed Systems. He is co-author of more of 190 scientific publications and patents in Cloud Computing (Cloud Federation), Distributed Systems, Wireless Network, Network Security, Cloud Security and Cloud and IoTs, and recently in Osmotic Computing. He was General Chair of ESOCC 2015 and IEEE-ISCC 2016. Since 2011 he is a Fellow of IARIA, recognized as a Cloud Computing Expert, and since 2011 he is also involved in the activities of the FIArch, the EU Working Group on Future Internet Architecture. In 2014 was recognized by an independent assessment (IEEE Cloud Computing Transaction, Issue April 2014) as one of World-Wide active scientific researchers, top 27 classification, in Cloud Computing Area. He is General Chair of IEEE-ICFEC 2019 and Workshop Co-Chair in IEEE-CIC 2018. He will be General Chair of IEEE CCGRID in 2021 in Messina(Sicily). Currently he is the Head of Computer Science School and Rector delegate on ICT for whole University of Messina.
Omer F. Rana is Professor of Performance Engineering at Cardiff University, with research interests in high performance distributed computing, data analysis/mining and multi-agent systems. He leads the Complex Systems Research Group. He was formerly the deputy director of the Welsh eScience Centre and had the opportunity to interact with a number of computational scientists across Cardiff University and the UK. He serves on the steering committee of Cardiff University's multi-disciplinary "Data Innovation" and "Energy Systems" Research Institutes. Rana has contributed to specification and standardisation activities via the Open Grid Forum and worked as a software developer with London-based Marshall Bio-Technology Limited prior to joining Cardiff University, where he developed specialist software to support biotech instrumentation. He also contributed to public understanding of science, via the Wellcome Trust funded "Science Line", in collaboration with BBC and Channel 4. Rana holds a PhD in "Neural Computing and Parallel Architectures" from Imperial College (London Univ.), an MSc in Microelectronics (Univ. of Southampton) and a BEng in Information Systems Eng. from Imperial College (London Univ.). He serves on the editorial boards (as Associate Editor) of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, (formerly) IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Cloud Computing magazine and ACM Transactions on Internet Technology. He is a founding-member and associate editor of ACM Transactions on Autonomous & Adaptive Systems.
Hossam S. Hassanien is a Professor and the Director of the School of Computing, at Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is also the founder and Director of the Queen`s Telecommunications Research Lab. His research is in the control and performance evaluation of broadband, wireless and mobile network architectures and protocols, radio resource management, the Internet of Things, and data-centric networks. He is currently leading research in the areas of 5G wireless sensor networks and edge computing.
Before joining Queen's University in 1999, he worked in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kuwait University from 1993 to 1999 and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1991 to 1993. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta in 1990, his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1986, and his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University in 1984.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE), a former chair of the IEEE Communication Society Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks Technical Committee, and an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Speaker. In 2015, He received the Queen's University School of Graduate Studies Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Supervision.
Mutaz M. Al-Debei is currently working as an associate professor of business analytics technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University and he also served as the Dean of the Business School at the same institution. Beforehand, he was a Senior Territory Manager for the Public Sector at Oracle. Also at Oracle, he was a Senior Territory Manager for Autonomous Data Management & Cloud Technology. Previously, Al-Debei had a previous role as a Principal Cloud Platform Consultant - Big Data & Business Analytics also at Oracle. Before joining Oracle, Al-Debei was working as the Director of Big Data & Advanced Analytics at INTRASOFT MEA. Moreover and before joining INTRASOFT, Al-Debei was serving as an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Computing at the University of Jordan (UJ), and also as an ICT Chief Consultant at the National Center for Security and Crises Management. He also worked as an IT Manager for Arab Radio & Television (ART) in Jordan Media City and he held other positions in Al-Ahli Bank (Master Card Department) and Royal Scientific Society. AlDebei earned his Ph.D. from Brunel University London (BUL) in Information Systems and Computing in May 2010. Furthermore, Al-Debei has received many international and nationally significant research awards such as the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers – ICTs, 2015, the prestigious Vice Chancellor's Prize for Doctoral Title Page (with Author Details) Research from Brunel University London in 2010, the Distinguished Researcher Award from The University of Jordan – three times in 2012, 2014, and 2018. Also, he received best paper awards from UKAIS (2008), and another one from IFIP 8.2 (2010). Al-Debei has also served as a keynote speaker at numerous regional and international conferences organized by academic institutions, professional organizations and associations such as IEEE and ACM, and technology vendors.
